A LITTLE LESS GUESSWORK

Know before
you go.

Three details to check before choosing your next fuel stop. No account needed to browse.

01 / PRICE

Read the whole price.

Tenth shows the final tenth of a cent instead of rounding it away. Choose the same fuel grade and payment type in the nearby filters to compare like for like.

02 / FRESHNESS

Check when it was reported.

A reported price can change. Look for the freshness label and report time beside each price. When reports disagree, we make that visible too.

03 / DISTANCE

Put the drive in perspective.

Compare the distance as well as the price. Choose your device location or a covered city before searching. Distances are straight-line measurements from that selected location; a city search uses its station-area center.

04 / BEST VALUE

Compare the stop, not just the sign.

Best Value estimates your fill-up cost plus the out-and-back drive. With the default assumptions of 12 gallons, 25 MPG, and the local reference price, a station at $2.849 can beat a nearer $2.799 station once the extra drive is included. It is an estimate, so we always show Cheapest Price separately.

fuel cost = price × gallons · drive cost = detour miles ÷ MPG × reference price

05 / CAPTURE

Every report gets a review.

Manual reports are checked for a real station, a valid grade and payment type, and a sensible integer price. Camera reports are reviewed before they can update public prices. Unclear digits stay out of the feed.

06 / TRUST

Freshness stays visible.

Each price shows when it was reported. Fresh prices can rank; older prices remain visible with a warning, and disagreements are marked instead of hidden.

07 / PRIVACY

We keep the result, not the photo.

Tenth uses a submitted image to read a possible price, then discards the image. Public data contains the station, price, grade, payment mode, and review state. Precise device location is used for the nearby search and reporting checks, not sold as an advertising profile.

FAQ

Common questions.

Why does a price have a warning?

It may be old or disagree with another recent report. Check the report time before driving over.

Does Best Value know my exact route?

No. The MVP uses an out-and-back distance estimate. Route-aware detours are planned for later.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. An account is only needed for saved collections, follows, and attributed contributions.
