Privacy Policy
This describes what we actually collect and why. It is not legal advice, and it isn't a substitute for reviewing your own state's privacy laws or your app store's requirements before launch.
We don't store your pump photos
That's a product feature, not a promise we hope to keep. A capture photo is used to read prices, held in memory for at most 60 seconds, and then discarded — never written to disk, never kept by us or by the vision provider we use to read it.
What we collect
- Precise location. Used to match you to a station and to return nearby results. A capture location is coarsened to a roughly 150 m grid cell after 90 days; a search location is never stored at all.
- Device identity. An anonymous device key, so contributions can be trusted without requiring an account. Kept until you revoke it or it's idle for 13 months.
- Account info, if you create one: email, display name, sign-in method. Kept until you delete your account.
- Contributions. Prices and confirmations you submit are the point of the product, and stay in the public dataset even after account deletion — de-linked from you, not deleted, since they're also other people's data (a price you confirmed, for instance).
- Preferences, like your default fuel grade or notification settings.
- Support requests, if you contact us: your message, category, and anything you choose to attach. Kept for 2 years after the ticket closes, then your personal details are removed from it.
- First-party analytics with no precise location attached, kept 13 months.
What we don't do
- We don't sell location data, and we don't use ad SDKs.
- We don't guess at labels like “Home” or “Work” for places you visit — collections are named by you, and a public collection shows the stations in it, not your routine.
- We don't attach your capture photos to a support ticket automatically. A support screenshot is a separate, explicit action, with its own shorter retention.
Your rights
- Access & export — request a copy of your data as a downloadable bundle.
- Delete — your personal information is removed within 30 days; your contributions stay in the public dataset, de-linked from you.
- Clear this device — revoke this device's anonymous key from Settings, without needing an account.
- Opt out — notification categories can be turned off individually; marketing email (if we ever send it) is a separate opt-in.
